Nursing is one of the most in demand jobs today and I am not wondering why most students are into this course. I , myself is dreaming to become a nurse someday or even in a any health care related profession like pharmacist, phlebotomist or a Physical therapist. Isn't exciting to be in such field? However, as of this moment, i don't think it is posible for me to try any of those course since I am way too busy with my new job. In addition to that, i am also planning to continue my recent course which is Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education.
Teaching was actually not my first dream course but after taking some part time tutorial job when i was in high school, it eventually became a passion to me to a point that I wanted to became a teacher so bad. However, my dream to become a nurse is still there. At some point, i was like dreaming to become a nurse, wearing that cool white scrubs, and assisting many patients. I am so impressed to all the hard work and dedications that these nurses provide and I must salute them for their determination to help other people.

Is there really something wrong for being a single? Is it really a big deal for everyone? I keep on wondering why most of my friends are shocked whenever i tell them that I am still single. Oh well, it's been more than a year since i last entered a relationship which didn't end up well and as a matter of fact, we didn't have formal closure for our break up but I'm really trying to approach her to know her reason (coz she's the one who breaks me up :( sigh).
But then I do not have to drown myself into so much depression because of that incident. This is life and I have to accept the fact that our relationship is over, thus, i have to move on.
After all, being single is not that bad unless you will be single for the rest of your life. Just like what they said, "No man is an island" so we will all come to a point where we will look or seek for someone who we can be with for a lifetime.
Right now, I am enjoying my life and as bachelor. I do not have any commitment other than my obligations to my parents and my siblings since I am the breadwinner in the family but I do consider going for a date with someone i like. I never dare enter any blind date because I am really not into it. Unfinished Business

We have this bar inside our house but it's not yet finished. It remains pending for a month already because until now we cannot find someone to fix it for us. The worker that we hired went back to his province for some personal reason so we have no choice but to look for someone to replace him. Actually as you can see in the photos, the bar is almost done. What's missing here are the cabinet glass windows and other finishing touches. Well, since I was able to save some budget for this, i am planning to contact someone to finish this bar once and for all. Well, the concept of this bar actually started when i saw a wooden bar online. Ironically, i am not an alcohol drinker but i just find it nice to have this at home. It's like it adds color in the boring corner of our living room. Oh well, i want them to coat it with mahogany brown varnish to match up with our furniture. I might get an Electrician too to fix the lighting fixtures on it. It's quite complicated because as what i see to other bars, the light bulbs are not visible. What a Stressing Week

It's been a very hectic week and I can't imagine that i was able to finish all my tasks today. Oh God, i was able to submit all the tasks before the given deadline, i was able to help my mom doing all those general cleaning in the house, and I even climbed the roof to seal those stupid roof leaks. It was a very stressing week indeed but it seems that i am going to be very busy again next week especially now that i am scheduled to teach my nieces for their upcoming periodical exam. It's their first periodical exam and even though i just quit my tutorial job recently , it seems that i have no choice but to teach these kids as I promised to their moms. We really have to work hard in order for them to earn high grades. I might spend up to two weeks teaching them. I'm not a workaholic guy, it just so happened that if someone from my relatives need my help, I'm always there in a hurry and I just can't say no to them and besides, teaching is my passion and i always love to teach kids no matter how stressing it could be.

I might be the useless guy around our house when it comes to doing heavy house chores haha. Okay, i might be the eldest and I am supposed to do such tasks since Dad is unable to work. Doing House Chores

I am so proud that my mom taught us how to become responsible and that includes doing several house chores. She used to give us schedule to fulfill within a day and she never let us leave our rooms messy. To be honest, i really hate doing house chores because aside from being so time consuming, most of the chores that my mom assigning to me are those manly and hard chores. Well, i can't blame her. My dad is already disable and unable to do anything so I understand the fact that being the eldest, i take all his responsibilities.
So whenever there's a problem in our roof, then i have no choice but to fix it or ask someone to assist me. Same thing goes with other issues like water leakage from the basement, plumbing or piping issues and even cleaning our windows usually the windows in our second floor since those areas are really hard to reach.
But that was before. I am working now and I just don't have enough time to do such task so instead letting my mom do it by herself, i just hire someone to fix it. Game Designing

I am such a video game lover. From Arcades, PlayStation, Xbox, PSP, Gameboy and PC games. Name it! I was able to play them all. I used to play video games since i was in grade school. I remember, me and my classmates used to visit an arcade shop almost everyday after our schools. Until now, I am still hooked in some video and online games. Well, i am not a game enthusiasts and I am not a hustler too! I am playing those games just for fun and i feel life I'm in a different world every time i play each games.
I love Role Playing Games the most but I don't mind playing those strategy and fighting games as long as there is a storyline involved. I don't mind playing online casinos too if my budget will allow me.
I remember when i was a kid, I used to create my own game too. Well, maybe i was really influenced by those video games that's why i ended up building my own. I create my own stories, characters and gaming strategies. I used to draw them all on papers and then I will invite my cousins to play with me.
I think i am different from other kids before. I used to isolate myself from them and instead of playing outside, i would rather stay inside the house and do my own thing. I love to draw a lot and it's like i am creating my own world through my imagination.
Guess what, Milzon and I tried to experiment what else can we do with the Paint tool and we ended up making a 2d fighting game.

Here's how it looks like haha. The images are not that good since it is so damn hard to control the cursor.

Of course, we created our very own characters.

And here are the skills to be used by each characters.
We used three dices here and roll them all per turn. Sum up the total numbers and then it is up to you if you are going to use that amount to move or to attack. Let say you got 10 points, if you choose to Move, then you should move the character 10 steps forward; If you choose to Attack then you can use your skill to damage your opponent's life.
In Moving, you just have to select the character using the "Select Tool" and move them according to the points that you get after rolling the dice.

Sounds fun right? ahaha you can try it too.
Okay! I know this is a desperate act from me but i guess this is a good stepping point if i want to become a game developer someday (oh God... does it sounds so ambitious??)
Well, good thing there are game designing schools out there who are willing to teach those aspiring game designer like me.
I guess i better take a degree in game design to prove myself if i really have what it takes... What yah think?

Gosh! I am really short today. It all started after that week long vacation. During the Holy Week, my family and I decided to visit our relatives from the province. Well, it's been a tradition already for our family to visit them every Holy Week. Busy this Summer?

Believed it or not but Summer is actually the most boring season for me. Out of all the house chores, cleaning the carpet is what i hate the most. Well, in my case, we do not have a vacuum cleaner so I have no choice but to clean i manually. It is very stressing and consume most of my time. Well, we actually have a vacuum cleaner before however Milzon broke it and now, it's useless.

This photo was taken few months ago when we went to our province in Pangasinan. Are they so lovely? I wonder how much a pet rabbit will cost? I really want to own one but i just don't know how demanding they are and how expensive they could be.
I am such a pet lover and actually right now, we do have 6 pets in our house. I have 3 dogs, 2 cats and a fish. Snoopy is my oldest dog and my best buddy and he was given to me by my Uncle as his birthday gift. The two puppies came in to our family just recently. They are Madel and Thia. Madel has a black complexion while Thia is a spotted one.
I have 2 cats namely Mingming and Junix. And we also have one Arwana fish too.
Well, knowing the fact that we have 6 pets already, maybe i am just too ambitious to want another pet rabbit haha.
Pets are just like humans. They have feelings too and they should be treated properly. It is also our responsibility to bring them to a Veterinarian in a regular basis.

Aspiring Architect

For those who do not know yet, let me share you my job experience in a House Design one more time. That was way beyond my imagination that i will be working in a company related to Architecture. Yup! Who would have thought that an Education Student like me will work in a company of a different field right?
Well, it was just a contractual job but i can say that i really learned a lot from it and i enjoyed every seconds of my stay there.
It is actually a Japanese Owned company and my job is to layout or plot a design. No i am not designing the whole house! Each departments are assigned for a specific task and i belong to the group where my duty is to plot a design for the house' foundation. I learned a lot from this company. I learned how to use Autocad and Architrend which are both software tools for most architects.
Anyway, my supervisor was about to make me a regular employee but i refused since i have to continue my study and I was there only for a part time job. They told me that they are planning to transfer me to another higher department which is either the Wall or the Roofing department. The roofing department is the most interesting of all because we all know Japan houses are known for their unique design and i always wanted to know how they are being planned. Car Trouble... Help!!

Hi guys, i think i need your help now. It's been a week now since my start dad to complain about his car. I don't know the exact details of it but according to him, every time he starts the car, it is acting like it is out of gas. My dad is not fond of bringing his car into a repair shop and he tend to solve his issues alone. And he's been very busy these past few days, trying to fix this issue. OH and he don't even want to be disturbed. I am so worried about this guys and i really need your help.
You know what, in order for his car to stay running, he always have to pump the gas. I know it is not right and we even tried using carb cleaner for it but still getting the same issue.

I was watching "One Piece" awhile ago and they had a great episode today. For those who is not familiar with this Japanese Anime, One Piece is a Japanese Anime inspired from a manga series. It tells a story of Monkey D Luffy who is a pirate trying to navigate the sea in the search of the King of Pirates known as Gold Roger. During his expedition, he met some friends along the way who became his pirate crew. It includes Zoro the swordman,Usoop the inventor, Nami the navigator, Zanji the Chef, Chopper the doctor, Nico Robin the archeologist, the shipwright Franky and the musician Brook. I'm a big fan of this anime and never miss any of their episodes.
I don't know , maybe i am just so fascinated with pirates. I remember when i was a kid, my friends and i used to play treasure hunting games where we play the role of pirates.
I think Pirates are always wired with treasure hunting . I just don't know the history behind it but every time we hear about pirates, they are always associated with treasures.
But of course in real life, treasure hunting is done not in a crucial way in which pirates always does. And also, not all treasure is hidden within the treasure chest. Finally, i got my laptop repaired. It's been a week since i brought it to a technician. If you are following this blog, then you are aware what happen few weeks ago. My lappie was causing trouble and for some reason, it shot down automatically while i am in the middle of something. It happened repeatedly and it made me so upset. This is the reason why i decided to take it directly to the computer dealer and lt their technician fix it. They told me to leave the lappie at their shop and they will just contact me once they're done repairing it. At last! My laptop is back, however, all the files were gone because they reformatted it.
Anyway, that's not really a big deal since i have back up copies of those files on my desktop. Though the games that i downloaded there were completely gone since i removed all the games in my desktop last month. Too bad i have to start from scratch again. But since the technician told me not to download so many files in my lappie, i guess i will just stick on playing my favorite browsergames especially Dragonica. It is a 3d browser game that offers a very exciting epic adventure. So if you are a fantasy game lover like me, better include Dragonic in your game list.

It's really hard to find a job today especially if you are targeting to work abroad. We are experiencing global financial crisis and the competition on the job market gets tougher and tougher everyday. I am not wondering why the unemployment rate in the country is continuously increasing and i just wish the government will take action on that. But of course, we should not be depending that much on the Government. We should take an action too.
If you want to ace that job then better give your best. Showcase and promote yourself during the interview. Don't rely on your written document. Your portfolio plays a very important role because a lot of employers today are looking for a good educational attainment and good employment record but of course, they are not mainly relying on those information. They are also looking for an applicant with the right attitude. Groom properly before the interview so that you can make a good first impression.

LCD or LED TV?

I was with my cousin yesterday when we hit the mall to grab for some highly discounted products when i decided to visit an appliance center shop. I really love going here and check the high tech gadgets being showcased there. I saw that they are offering huge discount for their LCD TV. I am really confused about the difference between an LCD TV and a LED TV. I wonder which is much better too. I did some research online and i found out that LED TV is the improved version of LCD. I also heard that LED TV is much better because it is more energy efficient than LCD. They are also made to provide high quality pictures that are greater than what LCD TV can provide.
But of course, LCD televisions are way cheaper than the LED TV but other than that, i cannot see too much of a difference between the LCD and the LED TV. Both of them are great and will definitely give you that entertaining watching experiences that you've been looking for.
There's nothing too much difference between the two unless we are referring about the brand. Some gadgets today are being imitated by other companies so it is better to buy your item from well trusted online shop or tv dealer.

Wedding of the Decade!

Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alacasid Wedding is definitely considered as the wedding of the decade. We've been following this couple from the very beginning and until now that they get married. Both of them have been in some trials and challenges but they were able to surpass everything. The wedding was held last December 22 and all of us have witnessed the much anticipated event last year as it was aired on the national tv.
It was really an extra ordinary wedding because unlike the traditional church wedding, the couple decided to held it on a private resort that is located on a high land. Unlike the typical wedding gown, Regine wore a red dress and pair of boots which was designed by the famous Hollywood designer Monique Lhuillier.
Regine has arrived through a white Limousine which is exactly the same as what i saw at Extreme Limo Portland site!
The wedding was attended by major sponsors and biggest names in both political and entertainment industries including President Noy!

Monitor Issue

My monitor started to give me some trouble again. It sated to shut down for no reasons again and it happens intermittently. It is kinda upsetting because I just had it be repaired last week but I think the condition is still same and the monitor is giving me the same problem. Okay, I am not that techie, I know some basic troubleshooting but fixing the monitor is not my expertise. Maybe I have to replace it now and but a brand new one. I will buy one but definitely not his month because I have so many things to buy this month in preparation of the Christmas, my upcoming birthday, and of course New Years Eve. If there’s one country that i would love to visit and would love to stay for good, that would be Canada. I just find how organize this country is. I was one of the people who have seen my Grandma’s death. I’ve been a grandma’s boy ever since. I grew up with her and spent most of my time with her that is why it is hard for me to accept that she’s not here anymore. I saw how she suffered from her illness. A month before, the first doctor told us that it is just a complication and it is curable. We took her home, knowing that her condition can be treated by simple medications. Until, one day, she rally gone mad and her condition got worsen. We rushed her into a private hospital and it was diagnosed that she is suffering from the lung cancer and it is quite late for us to save her because the cancer turned malignant and spread over her body. It is very disappointing that we trusted a wrong doctor. Right now, my family and I were planning to hire a Medical Malpracice Attorney and sue that doctor for providing a wrong diagnosis. I know that this is the right thing to do!

To make it sure, i tried it again and it's still the same. I made fun of it and tried other url that is possible to redirect me to google site. When i was working as a technical support associate, one of the most common issues that we're facing is about our customer's email account.
It all started when our client switch their partnership from Gmail to Yahoo mail. All customers got an email asking them if they want to switch to Yahoo.
And as what we expected, everyone especially new yahoo users got confused. We are all wondering why they find it hard to locate their inbox and their address book even though Yahoomail and Gmail are almost the same.
Then we realized that all customers who switched from Yahoo will be directed on the "All New Yahoo mail" page which is really complicated especially if they are used to Gmail.
The All New Yahoo mail interface is quite complicated and very hard to navigate if you are not familiar with it.
Meanwhile, Yahoo Mail Classic is much neater and has easy navigation where you can easily locate your files and folders. It is also almost the same with Gmail's interface.
If we will be basing it to the features, All NEw Yahoo Mail is the best but if you are going to base it on neatness of the interface and the simplicity as well, then i'll go for the Yahoo mail Classics

One of the things which users look for is the availability of tab browsing. Before, the only browser that offered it was the Mozilla Firefox. However, because of its popularity, IE, Safari, Opera and Google Chrome have all integrated the tabs to their interface. Another feature that users look for is the availability of add-inns. (Add-ons in Mozilla Firefox)
Add-inns are small applications that can be installed directly into the browsers; these let the users modify their browsing experience. Some of the most popular add-inns include quick image viewers (you point your mouse to the thumbnail pictures and it shows you a bigger view of the image), Web Browser Summary (it gives you the list of the content of the web page's content), and more. As of now, only Opera and Firefox support Add-ons. However, Google Chrome may soon be integrating this feature to their look. The winner in this category is Opera and Firefox.
Now, let's look at the fun side of the browsers and their ability to support themes.

Themes are the looks that users apply to their browser. Whether using the Halloween, Valentine or Holidays, themes can always add some "mood" or "personality" to your browser. You can even search your own image to it. In this category, even Firefox provides a solid theme database, Google Chrome has a ready to install theme. Safari theme is said to be the most popular even in it's default settings. In this category, Safari and Google Chrome are the winners.

What Browser Should You Use?

What browsers should you use? There are actually few choices, but this guide should help you make a quicker decision as to what browser to use on the web.

Internet Explorer.
Unless your using the latest version (version 8), you're likely to get computer viruses and other online nasties.
Some websites like banking sites and Microsoft.com will not work if you're not using Internet explorer.
Old versions don't have tabs so in order to open many sites at the same time, you'll have to run Internet Explorer many times.
There's No updated versions for Mac.

Google Chrome.
It has a simple interface, created by Google.
No version for Mac, so far, but this will change for sure.
Unlike IE, Google Chrome has Tabs, so one program can open several sites.
Claims to be faster than Webkit or Safari.

Mozilla Firefox.
The geek's favorite, because of the way you can add plug-ins to it that can change the behavior of the websites.
Before the advent of Gmail themes, you can already decorate Gmail using Mozilla FireFox.
It has an excellent password remembering tool.
Less vulnerable to viruses.

Flock
Flock is a version of Firefox.
It has a built-in social networking like Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and more.
You can easily open your email. There's a menu for it.
You can also blog directly from Flock. Easy!

Opera
The "Remember my Password" option doesn't work.
It has a built-in torrent so you can download anything!
No need for Extra programs.
The Opera cache (which is located when you type "about:cache") contains anything you download including Youtube and megavideo streams. Hint, hint!
You can also search with just the mouse using special mouse movements.

Safari/ Webkit
The Webkit version is supposedly the fastest browser around.
Standard browser in the iPhone and the Macintosh.
Add Inquisitor (a plug-in) - and even if you haven't finished typing, results already appear: http://www.inquisitorx.com/safari.

My personal choice? Flock and Opera. Flock has the strengths of Mozilla Firefox and Opera has Torrenting built in which id useful sometimes.

What is "Default Gateway?"

One of the access point that plays a very important role especially in configuring your modem is the "Default Gateway". A Default Gateway is the node on the computer network that is chosen when the IP address does not match any other routes in the Routing Table. he gateway is usually the ISP-provided device that connects the user to the Internet, such as a DSL or cable modem.

A default gateway is used by a host when an IP packet's destination address belongs to someplace outside the local subnet. The default gateway address is usually an interface belonging to the LAN's border router.

You can access the Graphical User Interface or GUI of your modem by typing the default gateway numbers on your address bar. n computer networking, a default gateway is the device that passes traffic from the local subnet to devices on other subnets. The default gateway often connects a local network to the Internet, although internal gateways for local networks also exist.

You can access or trace your PC's default gateway by:
◘ Performing an IP Configuration
◘Checking TCP/IP properties
◘ and through checking LAN properties in your control panel

IP Configuration Commands

The Command Prompt is not just for tracking the IP Address. You can also execute dome commands to configure your ip
here are the list of some IP Configuration commands

ipconfig - Display or show basic information
ipconfig /all - Display Full configuration or detailed information
ipconfig /release - Release the IP Address for the specified adapter
ipconfig /renew - Renew the IP Address for the Specified Adapter
ipconfig /flushdns - Purge the DNS Resolver Cache
ipconfig /registerdns - Refresh all DHCP leases and re-register DNS Names
ipconfig / displaydns - Display the contents of the DNS Resolver Cache
ipconfig /showclassid adapter - Display all the DHCP class IDs allowed for adapter
ipconfig /setclassid adapter - Modify DHCP class ID

Aside from Ip configuration, you can also do some commands like Ping
Ping Command is used to test the network connection

You can Ping the ip address by simply typing
ping 192.168.x.x
Ping the modem by typing the default gateway; ping a website by typing the url after the word ping (ping www.yahoo.com)

Tracking your IP Address in Macintosh OS

For troubleshooting Network Connection issues, you may need to find your Ip Address. I am done with the Windows, now let me share you how to track your Ip address for your Macintosh Operating system.
Macintosh is way too different compare to windows. It is easy though you may find it complicated if you get used to Windows as your Operating system.

►Just click the "Apple Logo" on the upper left corner of your screem

► Select "System Preferences" from the menu

►A new window will pop-up, just click the "Network" icon under the "Internet & Network" section

►Select which connection would you like to check in the "Show" drop down menu
◘ select "Built-in Ethernet" if you're hooked up via Ethernet
◘ select "Internal Modem" if you have an IFITL connection
◘Select "Airport" for wireless connection
►Finally, a new screen will show up. Just choose the "TCP/IP" tab and you will have your Ip Address!

How to Perform an IP Configuration in Windows Vista

Performing IP configuration in Windows Vista is almost the same as how you perfrom an IP configuration in Windows XP. It's just that, the way how to access the Command prompt is a little bit different though much easier.

HOW TO PERFORM AN IP CONFIGURATION IN WINDOWS VISTA
►Click the Windows Vista Orb ( or simply the round button in the lower left corner of your window)
►Now, there are 3 ways how to access the command prompt from the start menu◘ By typing "CMD" or "Command" in the "Start Seach" field box at the bottom part of the menu
◘ By clicking "All Programs", then select "Accessories", then choose "Command Prompt" from the accessories option panel
◘ There's also a "command prompt" icon on the start menu. just click it and you will be directed to the Command prompt window

►The Command Prompt window will appear or in layman's term, they called it the "black Window or black box"
►Now right where the cursor is blinking, just type "ipconfig"
► Then after a few seconds, the command prompt will response and it will provide you the "Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection" info which includes the IPv6 address, Subnet Mask and the Default Gateway.

♫ You can also go to the control panel and choose the "Local Area Network Connection" icon. Right click the icon and select "Status" from the option. The "Local Area Connection Status" box will appear. Just click the "Support" tab and it will then provide you the IP information

How to Perform an IP Configuration in Windows XP

We're done discussing some troubleshooting steps for some modem issues. Now, we are going to a more detailed part of troubleshooting. I will begin it with "How To Perform an IP Configuration" for different Operating Systems like Windows XP, Vista and Macintosh.

We will start with Windows XP.
Why do we need to perform an IP Configuration? First, IP Configuration will provide you a detailed information and will help you to locate the following:
◘ IP Address - is a numerical label that is assigned to devices participating in a computer network utilizing the Internet Protocol for communication between its nodes.
◘ Subnet Mask - is a logically visible, distinctly addressed part of a single Internet Protocol network.
◘ Default Gateway - is a node (a router) on a TCP/IP Network that serves as an access point to another network.

Other uses of IP Configuration
◘ Fix some IP related problems (169 IP addess for example)
◘ Renew / Release Ipo address
◘ Flush DNS Control
◘ Ping modem and websites
◘ Fix Winsock Error

Now, let's start with the basic which is how to track the IP ADDRESS.

HOW TO PERFORM AN IP CONFIGURATION IN WINDOWS XP
►Click the "Start" button
►From the start menu click "RUN"
►The "Run" box will appear
►On the text box, just type "CMD" or "COMMAND"►The Command Prompt window will appear or in layman's term, they called it the "black Window or black box"
►Now right where the cursor is blinking, just type "ipconfig"
► Then after a few seconds, the command prompt will response and it will provide you the "Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection" info which includes the IP address, Subnet Mask and the Default Gateway.

Technology evolves from time to time and it’s very uncontrollable. We can do a lot of stuffs using the internet. From a simple Search engine, it turns out to become a multi-purpose tool for everyone. Some used the Internet for business purposes while others used it for fun and entertainment. For game lovers, we can download computer games with a great and wide selection using the net. You can also buy mac games if you’re using Macintosh. For music lovers, there are sites that offer great production music online and allow you to download music files for your mp3. For aspiring writers, there are plenty of social networking sites that offer micro blogging that allows them to express their thoughts and share their articles online. We can do a lot of things through Internet and I wonder what will happen to this technology ten years from now.

Internet Light is Red/ Off or Blinking

We're heading down to the last light in your Modem. We're done with the Power Light, Ethernet Light and DSL Light, now we're moving forward to the Internet light. Internet is quite different from the first three lights in terms of Trouble Shooting. Troubleshooting the power, Ethernet and DSL involves hardware issues and it deals mostly with the physical connection. In other hands, internet, as the word suggest, deals with Software issues.
When the Internet light in your modem is Off/Red/ or blinking Green, these are the possible reasons:
◘ Modem Configuration Error
◘ Bad IP Address
◘ Browser Issues
◘ Firewall Settings

MODEM CONFIGURATION ERROR
This error mostly occurred in all newly installed modems and if the internet light is RED. There are two ways to install your Modem - it's either through the Installation Cd or installing it manually. As a part of this installation process, you will be required to establish your own user name and password for your modem's Graphical User Interface or GUI. In some cases, Installation cd failed to update your newly made personal information like the username and password in your Modem's GUI which causes the sudden lost of connection. As long as you know your username and password, there's nothing to worry about it, all you have to do is to access the modem's GUI by typing the Default Gateway (you can get this information by performing an IP Configuration) in your address bar, then it will take you automatically to the modem's interface. There should be a section or button in that web page that says "Login". After clicking the Login button, it will then take you to the Authentication page where it will require you to enter your username and password. If the username and password fill box are blank, simply enter the necessary information then hit "connect". If there's something written in both fill box and there's a "disconnect" button below, then hit the "disconnect" button, then it will now allow you to edit those information to your newly updated username and password, then hit connect. The internet light must turn from Red to a solid Green Light. ( i will discuss this in much detailed information soon)

BAD IP ADDRESS
If you got a bad IP address or simply a 169 IP Address, there's a big possibility that the problem is on your firewall settings or the computer is corrupted, affected by virus and other malicious softwares and more. This problem required a support from an expert and professional Techinician.

BROWSER ISSUE
There are websites that contains viruses that may harm your computer and the best way to troubleshoot this is to optimize your browser, clear the private date, clear cache, cookies and browsing history. Check if the browser is secured againts malicious software like "Rouge Software" which will really harm the entire system of your PC. ( i will disccuss this muchj further soon)

FIREWALL SETTINGS
There should only have one Antivirus and other related software installed in your PC. Multiple softwares will just give conflicts to each other which will cause a sudden lost of Internet connection.

OTHER CAUSES
Internet connection will be affeced by some radio signals especially from cellular phones. It would be better to place your modem 2 feet away from any other EMI or RFI devices. Burglar alarma may also cause an internet interuption.

The DSL Light is not Lit

Before we proceed to the troubleshooting steps, let me have a short recap of all the things we tackeld before about the Modem Sync. We're done discussing about how to troubleshoot your modem if the Power Light in Your Modem is OFF, and so as the Ethernet Light.

The third and next Light after the Ethernet is the DSL Light which is considered as the most important light among all the lights you have in your modem. Westell 2100 and other old version of its kind, DSL is labeled as "Ready Light" while in 2wire 1800 (and other old versions) , DSL is labeled as "Local Network"
But what is DSL? And why do we considered it as the most important light in your Modem? DSL stands for Digital Subscriber Line. ADSL or Asymetric Digital Subscriber Line or DSL for short is a high speed internet service that provides online access and allows you to use the Internet. DSL operates over the standard phone lines just like the dial-up service but it is way much better than the dial up knowing that DSL works much faster and does not tie up with the phone line. Meaning to say, you can use your Internet and your phone at the same time unlike the dial-up system.
You suppose to see three cables connected at the back of your modem; The Power Adapter which is connected to the Power Outlet; The Ethernet Cable which connects your modem to your computer; and the last one which is the Phone Line that connects your modem into the wall Phone jack. From the Phone jack, the computer's digital signal will be sent across the telephone lines in to the central office or what they called DSLAM. DSLAM is the central hub that acts as a switchboard for local DSL clients, routing requests and responses between each client’s computer address and the Internet.
By checking the lights in your modem, if you see that the DSL light in your modem is blinking or not lit at all, there might be a problem in your server. However, there are cases that the problem is also in your part and that is what we are going to discuss.

HOW IF THE DSL LIGHT IN YOUR MODEM IS NOT LIT

►If the DSL Light is not working, the first thing that you have to do is to check the physical connection. As long as you have a steady green light in Power and Ethernet, you can go directly and check the Phone line that connects your modem to the phone jack.
►Do a Sequence Power Cycle
►Make sure that you have a Dual filter installed in your phone jack. Dual Filter acts as a separator, filtering both phone signal and DSL signal. Without a dual filter installed in the phone jack will interrupt your connection.
►Check the other Phone Jacks. Check if all the phone jack is working properly. To test if the phone jack where your modem is currently connected is working, you can bypass your modem temporarily and connect it in each Phone jacks you have in your house. If the DSL lit up, the Phone jack that you're using is the one that causes the trouble. It is advisable to contact a technician to fix the line for you.
►Check other devices connected in all the phone jacks you have. Some devices may interupt the connection. If you're using a TiVo box for example, this may interrupt the DSL signal especially if you don't have any filter installed in each of the phone jacks yu have.
►Bypass the dual filter. To check if the Dual Filter is the one that causes the interruption, bypass the dual filter and connect the DSL cable directly to the phone jack. If the DSL lit up, then the dual filter is either busted o not working properly. Replacement of the dual filter is advisable.
►If you're done with all the steps above and still, the DSL light is OFF, There's a possibility that the modem is not configured correctly.
►In order to configure your modem, we have to enter its GUI or Graphical User Interface.
►Do an IP Configuration to check if we have the correct IP address and Default Gateway. Open the command prompt, type "ipconfig" and get the IP Address and the "Default Gateway"
►If you got the correct IP address, then take note of the Default gateway.
►Leave or close th command prompt and open a browser. (You are not connected yet, so expect to see a "Page Cannot Be Displayed Error" in your webpage. Type the Default Gateway in the address bar (192.168.1.254 for example)
►You must see now the GUI of your modem. The configuration of a modem depends upon the type of modem that you're using. If you don't know how to operate the GUI, it is better to ask for an assistance from your respective ISP or manufacturer.
►After doing all the process above, you should now be connected unless you have this following issues
◘ Conflict with the firewall settings
◘ There's an Outage in your Area
◘ Billing Issue
◘ Newly Installed Modem. After the installation of your modem, it doesn't necessarily mean that you are now connected. It may also takes time depending upon the time frame povided by your ISP.
◘ Disconnected in Error. Contact your ISP

Our next and last Modem Light to discuss is the Internet Light!

The "Ethernet light" is not working

Last time, we discussed how to perform basic troubleshooting if the Power Light in Your Modem is OFF and not working properly, Now, we are going to proceed to another Light next to Power Light which is the ETHERNET LIGHT.
Before we proceed to some basic troubleshooting steps, Let us discuss first what is the meaning of Ethernet. What's the difference between Ethernet and Internet? And what is this Ethernet for?Ethernet Cable is also known as RJ45 cable, cat5 cable or in some layman's term, it is referred to us as " the Fat Cable" because it is fatter and bigger compare to other cables connected at the back of your modem. This Ethernet Cable may comes up with different colors and design but with one standard size. Ethernet cable is responsible for transmitting signal from your modem to your PC and vice versa. Or if you have a router, Ethernet cable is also used to connect your modem to your router to all the other PC connected into it.

Ethernet cable is classified as a Category 5 cable or Cat5 cable which both ends are connected into a standard 8P8C connector or often called as the RJ45 connector. So how can you identify which port in your modem and in your PC tower this Ethernet cable should be connected?
First, there should be a label at the back of your modem that says "Ethernet" or if there's no label indicating an Ethernet Port, simply look for this symbol.
This is the same symbol that you have at the back of your computer tower.

This is the how the Ethernet cable should be connected. Since the RJ45 connector have the same size, you can always switch both ends of the Ethernet cable.

Now going back to our main topic, How if
THE ETHERNET LIGHT IS OFF WHILE OTHERS ARE WORKING.

Basically, if the Ethernet light is not working, DSL, INTERNET, and ACTIVITY lights should not be working as well. Remember as i've mentioned before (Check "Modem Sync") You can never established DSL and the rest of the lights unless you established a steady light in your ETHERNET
If the Ethernet Light is Off, the first thing that you have to do is to check the physical line. As long as you have a solid green light on you Power, you can go and check the Ethernet cable directly.
Check if the cable is securely plugged in each port. If it's still not working, then try to switch both ends of the cable (meaning to say, the one which is connected to your modem should be the one that you're going to connect to your PC and vice versa).
If you're done checking the lights and still, the Ethernet Light is not working, then check the IP Address by doing an IP Configuration. This will determine if there is a solid connection between your modem and your PC or not.
By doing an IP Configuration, all you have to do is to click the "START" button on the lower left corner of your screen(if you're using a Windows XP) or click the round Window "Orb" if you're using a Windows Vista. Safari is quite complicated so i will discuss it in a separate post soon.
(WINDOWS XP) So after you click the "Start" button, the Start menu will appear. Just Click "Run" and then a separate textbox will appear. Just type "cmd" or "Command." A black window or the "command prompt" will appear. Now right where the cursor is blinking, just type, "ipconfig" then press "enter" (WINDOWS VISTA) For Windows Vista, simply type the word "command" or "Cmd" right at the bottom part where there is a text box"
Now, there are 5 possible response here as you press the enter key.
►Limited or No Connectivity
►Network Cable is Unplugged
►169 IP Adress (169.254.x.x)
►The correct ip address like 192.168.1.254 (etc)
►o.o.o.o IP Address

I will discuss 2 of these reponse which are the "Limited or No Connectivity" and the "Network Cable is Unplugged"
►NETWORK CABLE IS UNPLUGGED
◘ Check the ethernet cable if it is plugged in correctly to the appropriate port
◘ Switch both ends of the cable
◘ If it's still not working, and if you have an extra cable with you. Bypass the old Ethernet cable and replace it with the new one
◘ If it's still not working, then the problem might be on the port (either the modem port or the PC)
◘ If you have a router, bypass your modem then try to plug the router directly to the pc. Check the Ip Address by doing an ip configuration, and if you get the IP address of your router, then it only means that the problem is with the modem. The port is either busted or not functioning properly. In this case, Replacement is much advisable.

►LIMITED OR NO CONNECTIVITY
◘ If you received a Limited or No connectivity error, then the problem must be on the driver.
◘ Checking the driver is quite complicated to discuss so i will discuss this topic in a separate post.
◘ For the mean time, let's give focus first on the modem lights.

THE ETHERNET LIGHT IS BLINKING
In this scenario, there are 2 possible reason why you're Ethernet light is blinking. First, if you do not have a solid connection between your modem and your PC (troubleshooting is required) and Second, the modem is communicating with your PC and the reason why it's blinking is because there's an activity going on.

The "Power Light" in my modem is not working!

If the power light in your modem is not working well then, it's pretty obvious that the problem comes from the power outler. However there are different scenario of why was the power light is OFF.
POWER LIGHT IS OFF SO AS THE OTHER LIGHTS

This is the most common scenario. If the power light is OFF means there's no power source flowing to your modem. The best way to troubleshoot this issue is to check the power outlet.

Check if the Power Adapter is securely plugged in into the power outlet.
Check if the power outlet if it is active or not.
Check the cable if there's no any damage
If you have an extra Power Adapter with you, it is advisable to bypass the Power adapter and replace it with the new one. If this procedure solved the problem, the old power cable is either defective or not functioning properly. If not, then there's a big tendency that the problem occurs with your power line or the power outlet itself. In this case, you must try to look for another power outlet and plugged your modem in (only the modem) to test if its really the power outlet that causes the problem. After doing this step and still, the modem is not working and if you see that all the other appliances in your house are working properly then the Modem is either defective or not functioning properly. The modem needs a replacement, you may contact your ISP if their service includes a replacement for defective modem.

THE POWER LIGHT IS OFF WHILE OTHERS ARE WORKING
If the power light is off while others are working and if there's no problem in your internet connection, then there's a possibility that only the power led is not functioning properly. But if the power light is Off or blinking while others are not, and if you're losing your internet connection intermittently, then the modem is either defective or not functioning properly.

Modem Sync

The first thing that you have to check once the Internet connection had lost are your modem lights. These modem lights will determine the exact issue. Now you have to know what "sync" means. The word "sync" is used to describe a steady light on your modem. Just like what you see in the image below.

Checking the modem lights should be done by order. You should follow this order.

Power Lights
Ethernet Light
DSL Light or Ready Light (for Westell Modem)
Internet Light
Activity Light

If you're using an old 2 modem (Model 1800). You should follow this order

Power
Broadband Link
Local Network

I can't Sign-In with my Yahoo! Mail!

I got so much trouble Signing-in with my Yahoo Mail this past few days. I was able to reach the page where they ask me to enter my email address and my password as well. However, after filling up those information, the page went back and redirected me to same login page. This is quite frustrating in my part because i am barely relying on my Yahoo mails. I just can't live a day without peeking out my mails.
I checked my Antivirus settings to know if this software blocks me out from yahoo mail. I also checked my firewall setting if it is set-up correctly, but the issue still persist.
Luckily, a friend told me to visit a site that will allow me to view my mail without logging in into YahooMail.com. The site is http://us.m.yahoo.com/.
Unlike Yahoo! the navigation of this site is largely different from the usual Yahoo mail. Just click on the link that says "Mail" in the upper right corner of that web page and then it will take you to a page where it will ask you to enter your user information( email address and password)
I was able to sign-in in my account and was able to view my mails. Take Note that Spam Mails or Junk Mails is not visible in this site.

One of the reason why we cannot sign-in with our Yahoo Mail is because of a Browser issue. If you are using Internet Explorer and it doesn't allow you to sign-in for your Yahoo account, then try another browser like Mozilla Firefox. It is the same procedure if you are using Safari as your browser. Mozilla Firefox is pretty easy to download and it will just took less than 30 minutes to finished the downloading process.
However, If the problem occured in your Mozilla Firefox, then try to sign in using your alternate browser which is either Internet Explorer or Safari.

If the procedures above didn't work out and the problem still persist, there is a big possibility that the problem is in Yahoo! and the best option that we have is to contact them and have them resolve this issue for you!

Check the Lights!

After you have learned the basic steps of Sequence Power Cycling, It's time for you to perform another basic step which is done simply by Checking the Modem Lights!
Before you proceed to any troubleshooting steps, you must ensure first that the DSL modem and DSL cables are set up correctly.
Before doing any steps, it is advisable to check first the status of your modem lights!
Through checking the status of the lights, you can identify what exactly the problem is like No Sync, No Surf, and more.

Let say for example, you have a Motorola 2210, there should five Lights namely,POWER,ETHERNET,DSL,INTERNET AND ACTIVITY.(in order from left to right)
Just Take note that establishing Solid Green Lights means establishing Solid Connection and Everything works properly.If one of the lights is OFF there must be a problem and must provide necessary troubleshooting steps.

Lights on the modem should not be check randomly.
Checking for the lights should follow a sequence.

Start it with the Basic: Sequence Power Cycle

Before consulting a repairman or technician, make sure that you have done all the basic process in troubleshooting. This basic steps will not require you to be a techie savvy person. For example, you lost the connection to the internet. Before reporting this to your respective ISP, make sure that you have done all necessary actions in your part.
Check the cables if they are plugged in securely in each ports. After checking the ports and still, you're not connected, try to perform a process called "Sequence Power cycling."
Sequence Power Cycling is just a matter of refreshing the connection. "Sequence" as the term suggest, which means you have to do it logically or by following a certain pattern.
Here's the procedure:

Turn off you monitor. Its either by plugging it out from the power socket or simple turning it off manually in the computer by pressing the power button.
Turn off the modem by unplugging it from the power source (if in case you are using an IFITL type of modem or built-in modem inside your System Unit Case, skip this process and proceed to the next step)
If you are using router wired to your modem, just turn it off by pressing the on/off button on the side or simply plugging it out from the power source.
now that everything is completely turned off and unplugged, you may now begin performing the second part of the "Sequence Power Cycling" but this time we will do the process in reverse.
Turn on the router followed by the modem, then followed by the PC.
After doing a simple and basic power cycle, check again the connection. If there's no connection still, there might be some problem with your ISP, Software issue, hardware issue, browser, or in your third party softwares like Anti-virus and more. (I will tackle all of these from time to time.)

For now, let's just stick to what we have learned for today which is the "Sequence Power Cycling"

IF THE POWER LIGHT IS OFF

1.Check If you have an active Power Outlet
2.Check for the DSL POWER ADAPTER

2.a. Check if the Power Adapter is connected Firmly to the port of the modem.
(unplug/replug)

2.b. Check if the Power Adapter is seated Firmly to the power outlet.

This bulb stands for checking the modem lights after performing a step or procedure.

***How if im done with the Procedures (above) but the Power Light is still OFF?
